No Modpack Warning
Warns vanilla users when browsing public modpack servers.
Overview
The No Modpack Warning helps vanilla Minecraft players understand compatibility issues when browsing servers that require modpacks. This prevents frustrating join failures and sets clear expectations.
Quick Summary
- Modal popup on first visit to Public Lobbies
- Explains compatibility risks and options
- One‑per‑session UX; does not block browsing
How It Works
When you browse Public Lobbies without a modpack installed, Tunnely detects this and shows an informational modal.
The warning explains that many public servers require matching modpacks and that joining without them will fail or cause crashes.
It appears once per session - you won't see it again until you restart the game client.
The warning doesn't block you from browsing; it's purely informational to set expectations.
Use Cases
Technical Details
- Detection checks for absence of any modpack identifier in your client configuration.
- The session flag is stored in memory only and resets when you close the game.
- Servers with modpack requirements show badges in the browser indicating what's needed.
Best Practices
- Read the server description to understand what mods or modpack version is required.
- Filter by vanilla-compatible servers if you prefer to play without mods.
- Install popular modpacks like FTB or Curseforge packs to access more public servers.
